hey guys! im feeling restless so, i wanna do a tribute to celebrate how far have we come in dressing styles and it shall be called fashion through the ages! (: ----------------- drum roll ------------ ------- ---------- ----------------- ------ --------------- ------- ----------- ---------- -------------- --------- ----------- ----------------- ------------------- -------------------- ---------------- ------------------ --------------- ------- ------- --------------- ------------ ---------------- ------------------------ ------------- ------- ------- ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- --------- --------------- ---------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- fashion of the 50's :
ladies: - vintage, flowery patterned dress that reach up to halfway between the knee and ankle. - corsets. used to exaggerate the bust, hip and waist line.
gentlemen: -black, blue, brown suits with ties and bows. - hat, one of their only accessories.
fashion of the 60's: The Twiggy Era
women: "women became more adventurous and more independent" (wooooooo! go us!) - mini skirts were invented, - dresses became sleeveless, - turtle necks were inspired, - prints became less flowery and more daring/ bold. - they started to not wear corsets.
men: "the Vietnam War inspired a trend in "retro"military clothes and ethnic prints." - they start wearing turtle neck sweatshirts, - box hats and three quarter sleeves.
fashion of the 70's:
both: - started wearing jumpsuits (eg. elvis presley)
chicks: - platform shoes! - afro and ferrah hair styles. - fishnets, - usually the disco theme (eg. disco dress, loop earings, headbands that are all and bright neon colours) - pea jackets, - and mini shorts.
guys: - tight shirts tucked in and tight bell-bottom pants - maxi & mini, hippie look.. ( and whatever my dad said..) - looooooong hair. - again the disco theme. (: i like. fashion of the 80's: retro!
chicks: - miss-match colours and prints! - lace gloves.. ( reminds me of mj ^^) - jelly shoes - legg warmers and shoulder pads. - preppy clothes - wedgies - oversized sweatshirts and polka dots!
guys: - acid- washed jeans (wow, sounds impressive) - denim jackets - parachute pants - high top shoes and tee shirts (: ----or----- - collar up izod shirts - with baggy blazer with the sleeves rolled up - and penny loafer shoes - men dress pants.
fashion of the 90's:
both: -> grunge look. - which includes flannel t-shirts and messy hair.
----or---
->denim look. - the bigger and the more colourful the jeans the better. -overalls.
----or----
-> big shoes. - platform sneakers worn to complete the "look".
